Clinical study: Micro water jet vs. curette
Our randomized multicenter study with David G. Armstrong,DPM, MD, PhD1,Marissa J. Carter, PhD, MA, Charles M. Zelen,DPM, FACFAS,FACFAOM has reached the halfway point! We are looking forward to the final results.
Conclusion: The Micro Water Jet device was able to close statistically significantly more refractory DFUs over 16 weeks, while a significant difference in wound area reduction should also be noted. These early data show promise that better debridement tools may improve wound closure and reduce complications and infections associated with the diabetic foot. Further larger randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these results.
